Painless Upgrading to Snow Leopard for CoreMelt Users

Unfortunately some users have ran into problems using our plugins on Snow Leopard. To ensure that your upgrade goes as smoothly as possible we recommend the following procedure:

CoreMelt V2 Users and Lock & Load Users

  • 1. Install your Snow Leopard upgrade, we recommend a clean install if possible rather than overwriting Leopard. See here for why.
  • 2. After Snow Leopard is installed, make sure you have the latest versions of FCP and Motion by running software update.
  • 3. Then please re-install our latest version of CoreMelt plugins to make sure you have our Snow Leopard compatible version (V2 2.2.2c). Latest versions are here.
  • 4. In some cases you may need to re-install your serial number, even if you installed over Leopard. For help re-installing your license please see our page here.

A very small number of users have experienced problems with plugins not being visible inside FCP or Motion after upgrading to Snow Leopard, this is a general problem experienced by many plugin developers. If you experience this please try quitting Final Cut Pro and Motion and installing this update from Apple.

Plugin Manager 1.7.3

After Effects CS3/CS4/CS5 Users

All CoreMelt V2 products work in Snow Leopard with After Effects as long as you have 10.6.2 or later installed.

CoreMelt Older (FxFactory) versions.

Older versions work on Snow Leopard providing you have installed FxFactory 2.0.9 (or later) from Noise Industries. This is a free upgrade and you do not need to purchase FxFactory Pro to use our latest CoreMelt FxFactory versions. You can download FxFactory from here.
