Requirements

Mac OS X 10.4.9 (or later)
Mac OS X 10.5.2 (or later) Mac computer with PowerPC G4, G5 or Intel processor
Final Cut Studio 2: Final Cut Pro 6.0.2 (or later), Motion 3.0.2 (or later)

Final Cut Studio (Universal): Final Cut Pro 5.1.2 - 5.1.4, Motion 2.1.2

Please run the Software Update command under the Apple menu to ensure that you have the latest version of Final Cut Studio installed.

Graphics card qualified to run Final Cut Studio The following graphics cards are supported:

  • ATI Radeon 9550, 9650, 9600, 9600 XT, 9700, 9800, 9800 XT
  • ATI Radeon X800, X850, X1900 XT
  • ATI Mobility Radeon 9600, 9700, 9800, X1600
  • nVidia GeForce 6600, 6800 Ultra DDL, 6800 GT DDL
  • nVidia GeForce 7300, 7600, 7800 GT, 7800 Ultra
  • nVidia Quadro FX 4500
For best performance, the graphics card should have a minimum of 128MB video memory (VRAM).

The following graphics cards are not supported:

  • nVidia GeForce FX Go 5200
  • nVidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra
  • Intel GMA 950
  • ATI Radeon 8500, 9200
The Macbook and Mac mini series (in its PowerPC and Intel variants) are not supported due to the more limited feature-set of their built-in graphics accelerators.

Not sure what graphics card is installed in your system?
You can determine what graphics card is installed on your system by selecting the “About this Mac” command under the Apple menu. When the system summary appears, click the “More Info...” button, which will launch the System Profiler application. Graphics cards are listed under the “Graphics/Displays” section of the System Profiler.
